6 Important Weight Loss Tips Every Nigerian Lady Should Know

I know you want to lose weight and I want to help you. For over a decade, I have gone through the process of weight loss, gaining it back, keeping it off and have learnt a lot of things I want to share with you.
Take these 6 tips to heart and you are good to go!

  1. Don’t Skip Breakfast:
    This is the very first thing I want to tell you. Skipping breakfast to lose weight is one of the most counter-productive things I have seen a lot of ladies say they are doing. Of course , for a while, you may lose some weight. But guess what? In the long run, you are doing yourself more harm than good. This is because you are confusing your metabolisim (the rate at which your body burns fat) into thinking there may not be food so it slows down. The problem is, this is often irreversible
  2. Eat Smaller Quantities:

It’ better to eat 6 times a day with very small quantities than eat 2 humongous dishes a day. Breaking your meals into smaller quantities helps your body digest the food better instead of quickly changing your big meals into fat

  1. Don’t Eat Late at Night:
    You body system is resting when you sleep so it won’t digest your food the right way. Moreso doing it continually ensures you end up with a pouch
  2. Careful with the Drugs:
    There are a lot of drugs and “teas” out there that are promising quick weight loss. A lot of them don’t work. Some do, but the methods they use are not advisable. You don’t want to end up with kidney or liver problems later in life because you wanted a  quick way to weightloss- do you? Take the healthy route and your body will continue to thank you
  3. Exercise:
    Don’t just plan to starve your way to weightloss, throw in some exercise-skip the lift and take the stairs, walk when you can instead of taking a bike, jog a little in the morning, join a support exercise group (truppr is useful). Exercising has numerous benefits aside from losing weight.
  4. Understand Your Metabolism & Set Realistic Goals

Lastly- set realistic and PERSONAL goals. Everyone has a different metabolism and body system. You may lose weight faster or slower than others- don’t feel bad. The  main goal is to lose weight and keep it off. Keep your eyes on the goal and don’t give up!
